When you buy a new laptop such as an ASUS, MSI, Lenovo, or Dell, and try to install Windows, or when you want to format an existing Windows installation and reinstall it, you might encounter an issue where the SSD is not visible during the installation. This is often accompanied by the message "No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media~".
It is unlikely that your new laptop is defective. Even if you're trying to install Windows on an existing PC, the issue may occur because the installation USB doesn't include specific drivers required by your PC.
Download the RST Driver
First, download the latest RST (Rapid Storage Technology) driver from Intel's official website.
If you bought a non-OS version of a laptop, you should download the RST driver on a PC with internet access. Click the link below to download from the Intel website.
If your existing PC has internet access, you can download the driver on that PC.
Prepare the RST Driver
Extract the downloaded RST driver file.
Create a folder named "rst" on your Windows installation USB and copy the extracted driver files into this folder.
Load the RST Driver
Boot from the Windows installation USB. If the hard drive or SSD is not visible during the Windows setup, load the RST driver.
When you see the message "No device drivers were found", click the "Load Driver" button.
Click "Browse" and navigate to the "rst" folder on the USB drive.
Select the RST driver file and click "OK".
Once the driver is loaded, the installation program should recognize the hard drive or SSD.
Load driver click |
Select Windows installation USB and choose the RST folder |
After the driver is loaded, click Next when the device appears |
Proceed with installation when the previously unseen SSD appears |
Install Windows 10
Now that the hard drive or SSD is recognized, proceed with the Windows 10 installation.

Once the installation process is complete, Windows 10 should boot up normally.
