Maximize Your Laptop's Lifespan with These Essential Programs

The lifespan of a laptop battery varies depending on several factors, typically ranging from 2 to 5 years. This period is significantly influenced by usage frequency, methods, and environmental conditions.

To maximize battery life, it is recommended to charge the battery within a range of 20% to 80% rather than allowing it to fully discharge. Additionally, turning off the power once the battery is fully charged helps extend the battery's lifespan.

Each laptop manufacturer offers a feature to set a battery charge limit. This feature effectively extends the battery's lifespan by providing an effect similar to disconnecting the battery while the power is connected. During lifespan extension mode, the battery charges to a maximum of 85%.

Maximize your laptop's lifespan by keeping your battery charge between 80-85% and using manufacturer-recommended optimization programs.

Reasons to Charge the Battery to 85%

Battery Lifespan Extension

Lithium-ion batteries can have their lifespan shortened by frequent full charge and discharge cycles. Maintaining a charge level of 80-85% instead of 100% reduces chemical stress within the battery, thereby extending its lifespan.

Heat Reduction

Charging the battery to 100% can generate more heat within the battery. Excessive heat is one of the main causes of reduced battery efficiency and lifespan. Setting the charge limit to 85% helps prevent overheating and maintains battery performance.

Improved Safety

Lithium-ion batteries can be dangerous if maintained at high voltage levels for extended periods. Lowering the charge limit increases battery safety and reduces the risk of fire or explosion due to overcharging.

Efficient Energy Management

In everyday use, fully charging the battery is rarely necessary. A charge level of around 85% provides sufficient battery capacity for most uses. This helps manage energy efficiently and maintains overall battery performance.

Preventing Memory Effect

While lithium-ion batteries do not suffer from the "memory effect" found in nickel-based batteries, maintaining a consistent charge level can help optimize battery performance. Charging to 85% is beneficial for keeping the battery in optimal condition.

Daily Laptop Usage Habits

To maximize battery lifespan, it is beneficial to actively adopt the following practices:

Adjust Charging Frequency: It is better to charge the battery within a range of 20% to 80% rather than letting it fully discharge. Additionally, turning off the power once the battery is fully charged helps extend battery life.

Heat Management: High temperatures can shorten battery life, so use your laptop in a cool, well-ventilated area.

Use Power Saving Mode: Adjust the screen brightness and set the power saving mode to conserve energy.

Turn Off When Not in Use: Completely turn off and power down the laptop when you're done using it.

Adopting these tips can significantly extend your battery's lifespan.

※ If you want to charge to 100%, disable the battery protection feature in each manufacturer's program to charge to the maximum.

Why is Bluetooth Not Finding Devices? Causes and Solutions for Windows 10 Bluetooth Issues

There are times when your laptop cannot detect your Bluetooth earbuds, making it impossible to connect the device. This issue can be particularly frustrating if your earbuds connect just fine to your phone but are not found by your laptop or computer. If you used the earbuds a long time ago and are now trying to reconnect them, here’s how you can troubleshoot and resolve this problem. Causes for Windows 10 Bluetooth Device Not Being Found The cause of Bluetooth devices not being found on Windows 10 is often due to Windows not being updated. The reason Windows isn't updating is usually because the operating system isn't a genuine copy. If Windows isn't genuine, the automatic update feature doesn't work. When you turn on Bluetooth, the following can occur. Even though Bluetooth is turned on, it keeps asking you to turn it on and says it can't connect. Ultimate Solution for Bluetooth Issues on Windows 10

This is the final solution when Bluetooth on Windows 10 does not connect, or when Bluetooth is activated (shown in blue) but wireless devices like earphones or speakers cannot connect and just keep scanning. For those who are somewhat familiar with computers, they may have installed various Bluetooth drivers from the internet but still face issues. This solution is for them. In my experience repairing customers' computers, I have observed this issue occurring in Windows 10 versions 21H2 and earlier. The cause seems to be a system conflict between the Bluetooth version and Windows 10 version 21H2. Even after correctly searching for and installing the Bluetooth driver, scanning for Bluetooth devices does not show the device names and the connection fails. A computer with a Bluetooth error icon and unconnected wireless devices. The solution is to manually update Windows 10. The fix is simple: update to the final version 22H2 of Windows 10.
